A Version of Me.jpg

A Version of Me explores identity, transformation, and the different versions of ourselves that emerge throughout life. Through hip hop, contemporary movement and physical expression, Rikkai Scott reflects on the experiences, choices and challenges that shape who we become. The work moves between the person we once were, the person we have become, and the person we are still discovering.

What happens when we confront the versions of ourselves we have left behind?

Created and performed by Scott, A Version of Me is an intimate solo exploration of growth, vulnerability and self-acceptance. Through movement, rhythm and a shifting physical landscape, the work examines the inner conflicts that come with change, asking how we can make peace with who we have been while continuing to discover who we are.

A Version of Me is a reflection on becoming — the struggle between the past and present, the weight of expectation, and the freedom that comes with accepting all the versions of ourselves along the way.

Originally developed as part of Breakin’ Convention’s Open Art Surgery at Sadler’s Wells, A Version of Me was further developed and presented at See It First Festival at Belgrade Theatre, Coventry.

Commissioned by 2Funky Arts through the And Still I Rise 2026 Tour, funded by Arts Council England.
